Ubisoft have officially confirmed that Assassin's Creed: Valhalla will run at sharp 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on Microsoft's next-gen console Xbox Series X.
Today, Ubisoft officially confirmed that Assassin's Creed: Valhalla release date has been moved up to match the release of Microsoft's next-gen consoles Xbox Series X and S. However, the good news does not end here. The game will also run at 4K/60 FPS according to the official press release from Ubisoft.
"With the Xbox Series X | S, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will take full advantage of the enhanced graphics, giving players the opportunity to experience the open world of Norway and England down to the very last detail. On Xbox Series X, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will run at 60 FPS in full 4K resolution," it's written in the announcement.
This is certainly fantastic news for those who planned to upgrade to Xbox Series X, especially after the publisher previously stated that the game will be 30 FPS on the console. it looks like the developers managed to properly optimise the title to use the full power of the console, which is always nice to see.
Whether Sony's next-gen console PlayStation 5 will be able to run the game in 4K/60FPS it remains to be seen. The publisher are yet to confirm this but we contacted them for a statement and will update the article if they respond.
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is officially hitting the shelves on November 10, 2020, for Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The game will also arrive to PlayStation 5.
