ARC Raiders is a PvPvE extraction shooter from the creators of The Finals, Embark Studios. Since the game's release, the first major update for the game was the North Line update, which introduced the Stella Montis map and Matriarch boss ARC to the game. Following the first update, Embark also released the Cold Snap update in December 2025.
As the game keeps heading through 2026, Embark has unveiled a roadmap up to April 2026, which kicked off with the January update, Headwinds. Now fast forward to February; we are moving towards the new Shrouded Sky update. Here's a complete overview of everything we know about the Shrouded Sky update coming to ARC Raiders.
Everything We Know About the ARC Raiders Shrouded Sky Update
The Shrouded Sky update is the fourth major update for ARC Raiders, as mentioned in the game's 2026 Q1 roadmap. The update will launch on February 24, 2026, across all platforms alongside the weekly hotfix and trials.
New Map Condition - Hurricanes
With the new Shrouded Sky event, Embark is adding a new map condition, Hurricane. During this new map condition, Raiders will need to contend with several intense gameplay challenges.
Wind:
The wind will change how you navigate topside. When you have a tailwind, you’ll feel fast and nimble, but fighting against the gales will inhibit your speed and quickly drain your stamina. Throwables will also behave differently in these conditions, and it may take a while to master the trajectory of thrown items like grenades. Other aspects of gameplay, like smoke, gas, and even jumping, will be affected by the power of the Hurricane.
Debris:
The gale forces of the Hurricane will inevitably kick up dirt and debris from the surface. Your shield was not built to handle this onslaught and will glitch and spark as it is struck by small items. Out in the open, this will degrade your shield and make you more visible to other Raiders. You’ll have to decide when to wear your shield and when it becomes a hindrance.
Visibility:
The skies have shifted, and low clouds make topside almost unrecognisable. Your vision will be limited, meaning ARC can easily become an unwelcome surprise. Stay vigilant, and try to listen through the howls of the wind to gauge the danger. Low visibility can also be turned to your advantage. When shieldless, other Raiders will find it harder to spot you amongst the chaos of the storm.
First Wave Caches:
A Raider always sees the opportunity where others only see danger. Rumours are circulating of valuable Raider Caches, relics of the First Wave, that have been unearthed by the ferocious winds. If you can battle the elements, get through the ARC, and outsmart rival Raiders, who knows what you might find.
New ARC Threats - Firefly and Comet
Two unique ARC machines have been spotted on the surface, and these machines will challenge Raiders to fight in new and creative ways.
The Firefly is a floating nightmare: an armoured flying machine that emits a jet of flame, burning your Raider to a crisp unless you can move quickly or find cover.
The Comet is a spherical ARC machine that calmly patrols the surface until it comes across an unsuspecting Raider. You better not let this one get too close – once it sees you, it will lock on with a frightening focus before exploding with a seismic boom.
The only large aerial threat since the game's release has been the Rocketeer. So, it will be interesting to see another major aerial threat take its place in the skies of the topside.

Moreover, the Shrouded Sky update will kick off the second Expedition project window. Take everything we know so far with a grain of salt, as Embark is yet to reveal official details about the particular contents of the update.
Arc Raiders Shrouded Sky Update Release Date and Times

The Shrouded Sky update will be the second major ARC Raiders update in 2026, following the end of Headwinds (January update). After countless bugs and a stint of exploits following the release of Bird City, Shrouded Sky has to be a redeeming update for ARC Raiders. Embark needs to pick up the pace with game updates, as Bungie is also gearing up to release their extraction shooter Marathon in March.
