Red Dead Redemption 2 is an absolutely gorgeous looking game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 finally launched on PC and as expected, it's a pretty demanding title. However, it features more than 40 graphics options which can be tweaked for stable 60 FPS.

Rockstar's mammoth looks absolutely stunning on PC and it comes with impressive volumetric clouds, lighting, parallax occlusion mapping and draw distance. All of these settings can be pretty demanding and you will need very powerful hardware if you want to crank the settings to the max.

Even the most powerful gaming graphics card, Nvidia RTX 2080ti, can't push Red Dead Redemption 2 above 50 FPS at 4K resolution and maximum details. However, to achieve a playable framerate while still keeping the game as pretty as can be, you won't need to spend your hard-earned money on i9-9900k and Nvidia's flagship card. You can simply tweak your graphics settings for great results all around.

We spent a lot of time figuring out which settings work best and we found that a mix of Ultra, High and Medium settings without the taxing MSAA is the way to go.

First, let's just briefly mention our hardware which includes Ryzen 3600 for the CPU and AMD's latest graphics card Radeon RX 5700 XT. Both of these are great 1440p options and a total overkill for 1080p. If you're playing in 1080p resolution, even a GTX 1660ti or Vega 56 will do just fine, but if you play in 1440p you should take a look at our settings to achieve a smooth 60 FPS experience:

This is obviously a lot of settings and depending on your hardware, you can try some additional tweaks to achieve 60 FPS. Try lowering grass or geometry level of detail but whatever you do, don't touch the water physics quality since this one will absolutely destroy your FPS without any significant visual improvements.

You can also scale your resolution for a nice FPS boost and use Nvidia Freestyle Sharpening or Radeon Sharpening to compensate for the lower resolution.
