Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 3 is coming out on April 3, 2024, with a truckload of new content, including new in-game features.
Of these new features, the Squad Assemble feature has caught the avid eye of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players. The new feature is being added to the game with the Season 3 update to encourage team play across all game modes, specifically Resurgence and Ranked Play.
New Squad Assemble Feature Explained
Warzone's new Squad Assemble feature and Squad Play bonus will reward players for landing near their teammates at the start of a Resurgence or Battle Royale match.
Once active, players will be prompted to land with their squad to earn bonuses. However, this new feature is completely optional, so players might avoid it if they want to.
After the initial landing of the first players of the team, a small radius is formed around them. Following that other players of the team can land in the following combinations:
- Full Squad Landing (Quads): All four players’ landing radius overlaps with at least one other.
- Full Squad Landing (Trios): All three players’ landing radius overlaps with at least one other.
- Two Half Squad Landings (Quads): Two pairs of players land separately, with each pair’s landing radius overlapping.
- Majority Squad Landing (Quads): Three of the four players land with an overlapping radius, and one player lands separately.
- Majority Squad Landing (Trios): Two of the three players land with an overlapping radius, and one player lands separately.
- Duo Squad Landing (Duos): For Duos, both squadmates need to land with their radius overlapping.
If a squad has achieved the new squad assemble feature, they will be eligible for squad play rewards, which will be awarded in-game. Here are the in-game rewards for landing together:
- Mark the Landing Destination: Each squad member receives XP if any teammate pings the location where you land before the first squad member touches the ground.
- Full Squad Landing (Quads, Trios): Land as a full squad for a sizeable XP and cash bonus, as well as a supply UAV.
- Majority Squad Landing (Quads, Trios): Land with two other members (Quads) or one other member (Trios) for a reasonably high XP and cash bonus, as well as a supply UAV.
- Half Squad or Duo Squad Landing (Quads, Duos): Land with one other teammate (Quads) or land with your teammate (Duos) and both of you receive a modest XP and Cash bonus.
The new feature will surely make landing together as a squad worth it. Moreover, it will also help new players understand how the team dynamic works in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.
