Epic Games will receive BAFTA award

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced that Epic Games will be given a Special Award at their upcoming event. The Award is given out for their achievements with Unreal Engine and excellence in technology.

Aliens: Crucible was a bit like Mass Effect

Aliens: Crucible was an RPG in development by Obsidian Entertainment until Sega cut the project and it was cancelled. Chris Avellone revealed a few more details recently, saying it reminded him of Mass Effect but was more terrifying.

We must admit that seeing two very familiar BioWare mugs smiling back at us after a lengthy absence from the scene is a great way to start the day but the company's co-founders Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka only came for the Order of Canada.

BioWare's N7 Day brought many interesting things such as Xbox One X enhanced Mass Effect Andromeda, but also featured the studio's future projects. For example, Anthem, due for release on 22 February 2019 will have N7 armour cosmetics.

BioWare celebrated the N7 day with a video commemorating the franchise. The future of Mass Effect remains bleak. To celebrate the anniversary, the Apex Elite Pack has been brought back and will be available until 13 November 2017.

Origin Access Premier release date revealed

EA have revealed that Origin Access Premier service will go live on 30 July 2018 during an investor call, but they have also silently shut down On the House program. Some players might miss it, but honestly it needed a change. Or a boot.

Even if you're not familiar with the name of James Ohlen you know him alright, what with the man having played key roles in bringing us Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect: Andromeda.
