Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox has confirmed that the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase will feature games from Japanese developers. Spencer said he is proud of what they are going to show on July 23.
We are only five days away from the Xbox Games Showcase, where Xbox will reveal brand new games from their first-party studios but also show more third-party games from their partners. Some of these games will be from Japanese developers according to Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox.
In the latest interview with JeuxVideo.com , Spencer talked about a lot of things including Xbox's plans for Japanese games in the future. Here's what Spencer had to say when asked about Japanese exclusives for Xbox Series X:
"We know we are not Japanese platform company, we know we will have to work to rebuild trust with Japanese creators and we think that happens over time. [We will] continue to listen to what they are looking for and what they need in order to reach that global audience. I'm proud of what we're gonna show on [July] 23rd and I like our roadmap of working directly with Japanese creators to build great Xbox games. You'll hear more about that in the future."
As expected, fans are hoping to see From Software's Elden Ring at the Xbox Games Showcase and some other Japanese titles like Yakuza. At the moment, we do not know if these games will indeed appear at the show but fortunately, we won't have to wait for too long to find out.
Xbox Games Showcase goes live on July 23, 2020, at 9:00 AM PT/ 6:00 PM CET.
