Hardsuit Labs and Paradox Interactive have revealed the Ventrue clan in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2. They are known as the business types that want to be on the top of the ladder in Camarilla and tend to dominate other beings.

Dominating other beings is not just a figure of speech with the Ventrue - one of the clan's inherent Disciplines is literally called Dominate. In Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2, it will be used to shape the thoughts and memories of their targets.

Mesmerize will be the primary power from this Discipline, allowing the Ventrue to put an NPC into a trance. While their mind is in la-la land, the victim will be oblivious to their surroundings, sound and even pain. This power can be improved to strengthen its effects.

While Mesmerize doesn't sound particularly useful on its own except for being minor crowd control, the second power in Dominate will make it much more interesting. Command will allow the Ventrue to order the enthralled NPC to move, remove obstacles and attack others.

Ventrue will be rather resistant in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 as well. Their second Discipline will be Fortitude and will feature two powers - Absorb and Personal Armor.

The first power will allow the vampire to enter a defensive stance and deflect any attacks they see while healing their wounds for the duration of the ability.

Meanwhile, Personal Armor will cause the Ventrue's skin to become almost literal stone. It will initially act as a stone-like barrier but further improvements will make the vampire impervious to just about any attack and cause their attackers to stagger.

As far as the personality and lore of the Ventrue go, they like to be the top dogs in the bunch, hence their manipulative nature. Fans of the original Bloodlines know the clan as the group where the snotty Prince of Los Angeles belonged, along with the less fun side of Jeanette Voerman.

You can read up on Ventrue on the clan's dedicated page.
