We have all waited and now we finally got it - the official Malkavian clan reveal for Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2. This clan is the fan favourite from the first game as one can never be sure whether they are nutjobs or oracles.

Toreadors and Ventrue were the two popular Seattle clans that were revealed, leading up to Malkavians who are the exact opposite. They are not popular and control the less desirable districts of the city.

This probably has something to do with Malkavians' inherent mental illnesses that are unavoidable due to the clan members having special insight into things going on around them. Malkavians tend to see and know things no one else does but the accompanying lunacy and incoherent ways they get that sight results in even less coherent sentences coming out of their mouths.

As one may expect, their signature Discipline is Dementation that imparts their own madness to their targets. It has two powers - Haunt and Berserk.

Haunt will cause the victim to see visions of an invisible spectre that will naturally cause them to flee in terror. This ability can be upgraded but the official website didn't specify what that refers to so it's possible longer duration will be available after upgrades.

Berserk is the second power from the Dementation discipline. It will send the victim into an uncontrollable rage and they will attack anything that comes near them. If no enemies are around, they will attack the air itself. There is no disclaimer on the website, but it is unlikely they present a danger to the ozone layer.

Dementation may be scary on its own but it is not a violation of the Masquerade, so feel free to plant seeds of terror in the minds of innocent passersby.

Malkavians will share the second discipline, Auspex, with the Tremeres. It will allow them to travel in astral form by leaving their body behind and sense enemies through walls or mark them while taking a joyride in the astral form. You can check out the full description on the official website.
