Rockstar Games have rolled out the final launch trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, giving us another sneak peek at Arthur Morgan's, ahem, collaboration with the Van der Linde gang and the gorgeously portrayed world of the Wild West.
Even though the trailer mostly relies on short and explosive shots, if you know a bit about the story - the trailer tells most of the story. Arthur Morgan runs into some inter-gang issues, although the era he lives in means he has to solve it the old school way.
Around the 0:39 mark is the part that should be the Blackwater bank robbery, which goes wrong and sends Morgan and the rest of the Van der Linde gang into exile. The sort of exile that has them traversing the world of Red Dead Redemption 2, robbing trains along the way and whatever else gangs normally do.
While they're busy chasing the trains, the world plus sheriff's dog are on their tail, making it a really peculiar timing to start thinking about ideals but that's just what Morgan does. Obviously, he's not very happy about that one more train and this ideals-gang conflict is likely to follow him through much of Red Dead Redemption 2's story.
Rockstar shows plenty of the in-game world and there's even a black bear appearing somewhere in the trailer, which is just one out of more than 200 specimens of land, air and water wildlife . The company ensured that animals behave like they would in nature, congregating into packs or lone wolfing it around.
We've also learned plenty about Red Dead Redemption 2's weapons and customisations , with the team including more than 50 kinds of authentic Wild West weaponry, along with a bunch of customisation to make players stand out. Peculiarly enough, Winchester's guns, which were featured in the original RDR, seem to have been renamed to Litchfield.
On a somewhat related note, while refuting allegations of 100 hour week crunch in the company, one of Rockstar's workers said that working on RDR2 was the least stressful time as of yet. Hopefully, it shows.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on 26 October 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
