Red Dead Redemption 2 just got a new trailer. The game was recently delayed to spring 2018. The trailer that shows the next protagonist and fleshes out the story a little further. While the game was delayed, the hype was merely extended.
Red Dead Redemption 2 got a new trailer and we got some more info on what the new story will involve. The trailer showed an outlaw called Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang. Together they'll rob, fight and steal their way across America.
Arthur Morgan's face is new to us, but we did spot a familiar one - Dutch Van der Linde. Van der Linde was the primary antagonist in Red Dead Redemption. Could this sequel be a prequel? Dutch does look younger.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a western-themed open world game played from third-person perspective that will include both single-player and online multiplayer components. But you already knew that. Back in may, the game was delayed until spring 2018 - a release window Rockstar is sticking to at the moment.
Now for a little bit of history: The first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 was released shortly after the game's announcement. The trailer showed some diverse locations and confirmed that we are, in fact, going back to the Wild West.
The initial release was set for fall 2017, but as you know that window got closed in May. Rockstar explained in a blog post: "Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set to launch Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans ... We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready."
