Rockstar are bringing a new batch of updates to Red Dead Online on 26 February 2019. The update will include new Showdown modes, free roam events, races, weapon and clothing. There is also some early access content for PS4 players.
Rockstar have revealed the next batch of additions for Red Dead Online, which are coming in just a few days - 26 February 2019.
In the latest update on Rockstar's website, the publisher listed new Showdown modes, races, character items and free roam events among other things.
On top of this, Rockstar are also adding a series of improvements and balances in the same update, just like they announced .
Fool's Gold is the name of the new free roam event where players will compete to wear a golden armour suit that protects them, but also makes them a target for other players. Taking down the armoured player or killing others while wearing it will reward you with points.
Fishing Challenges are also getting introduced and they will equip your character with fishing gear depending on the fishing location. While you fish, other players won't be able to gun you down. To win the challenge, you'll have to catch the biggest, i.e. the heaviest fish, and you can't lie like in real life.
There are also three new Showdown modes where players and teams compete to capture and deliver bags, steal loot from each other and survive. They are named Up in Smoke, Spoils of War and Plunder.
Races are getting Target Races variation where players shoot targets from horses to pass checkpoints as they race to the finish line.

Two new weapons are high capacity Evans Repeater rifle and D.D. Packenbush’s double-barreled longarm shotgun. Both weapons will be available via the Wheeler & Rawson Catalogue and local Gunsmiths.
Rockstar are also adding a wide range of clothing for character customisation. There are new outfits, jackets, boots, coats, gloves, hats and vests. On top of that, there will be some limited-time special items in the catalogue.
Those who play Red Dead Online on PlayStation 4 will have the chance to try Target Races a bit earlier. PS4 players are also getting another race variation named Open Target Races where players compete in open space to take out the most targets on horseback.
During this week, players will earn 20 per cent more XP on all activities ahead of the launch of these new updates.
