Barely a day after rolling out Predator in Fortnite: Battle Royale, Epic launched the skins for his distant cinematic cousin Terminator T-800 and Sarah Connor.
"It doesn’t matter if they’re coming from 1984 or 2029, the legendary Sarah Connor and relentless T-800 are the latest hunters to join the hunt and are available today in the Future War Set — now available in the Item Shop", Epic wrote in the announcement.
There aren't many designs as iconic as the model T-800, although that could be my generation's infatuation with the Terminator speaking. Nevertheless, whoever thinks red-eyed robots aren't automatically scarier deserves having Skynet as a landlord.
Epic made sure Fortnite players are left with a creative choice or two, which in Connor's case means two ready-for-battle outfit variants. Should you grab the T-800 Endoskeleton Arm Back Bling and Combat Knife.
"If you’re more machine than man, the T-800 features a neural-net processor err… built-in Emote, and you can also purchase the HK Sky Net Uplink Back Bling and Techno-Grip Axe", the team said.
This also explains the sightings and data mining findings, although there won't be a larger scale event as some suggested - just your friendly neighbourhood Terminator.
Epic's teaser for the outfit is also an explanation of how the poor hunk of metal ended up in Fortnite instead of transformed into a can. As it turns out, Jonesy swooped in at the last moment, like a knight on a white, umm, portal.
We must admit we weren't expecting Epic to throw us back into Terminatormania, but their choice of scenes and iconic moments is really spot on here.
