Paradox Interactive and Hardsuit Labs recently released a trailer showcasing Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2's RTX looks that was narrated by a familiar voice. It is the voice of Grey Griffin performing Therese & Jeanette Voerman.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 already looked pretty on its own but Hardsuit Labs were not content with leaving the looks as they were. The team went for raytracing that will be available with NVidia's RTX 20 series so those who paid for top of the shelf cards will have a few reflections more than everyone else.
The footage on the trailer looks rather impressive and the tone seems to match that of the original Bloodlines perfectly. However, there are two factors other than graphics that actually added to the familiarity of the ambience.
First, the song in the background sounds like something ripped straight out of the first Bloodlines and it might just be. Fans are currently speculating that this is a theme that was supposed to be used in the background while navigating Hollywood but was never used.
The second and arguably more important reason is the narrator. It is the voice of Grey Griffin, known as Grey DeLisle at the time of first Bloodlines. She voiced the fan-favourite Malkavian with the split personality disorder - Therese or Jeanette Voerman, depending on who you ask.
It is highly possible she sounds familiar from her numerous other works as Grey Griffin's career is filled to the brim with great performances such as Destiny and Destiny 2 female Awoken Guardian, Catwoman in Rocksteady's Batman Arkham series and Nova in Starcraft 2.
Hardsuit Labs and Paradox Interactive hinted in the past but never officially confirmed that characters from the original game would make an appearance in the sequel. With the previously seen red-clad female vampire that reminds of VV and now the voice of Therese/ Jeanette, reappearance of existing characters is all but set in stone.
