Sloclap showed the upcoming roadmap for Sifu, which included numerous interesting additions, including the difficulty settings.

Sifu is a nightmare to beat or not particularly challenging, depending on who you ask. It appears that Sloclap are looking to create some solutions for both groups as the newly announced roadmap showed that difficulty options are going to be added at some point during the spring of 2022.

This means the update would have a release window within the next two months to bring a few upgrades to the cosmetics system alongside the choice of difficulty. Sloclap provided the exact date though, which is May 3, 2022.

Following the spring update, the game will get advanced scoring and gameplay modifiers during the summer. Some of these modifiers include "No Guard" and "One Health Point" for the hardcore player base who are looking for the ultimate challenge. The update will also feature new outfits.

Autumn 2022 will bring another set of outfits and more modifiers, along with the replay editor which should make for some great action reels.

Finally, the winter of 2022 will bring the new game mode, Arenas. Unfortunately, there isn't much info on the particulars yet but the update will once again include more outfits and modifiers.

Since some players considered Sifu to be a bit like Souls games when it comes to challenge, the difficulty settings are bound to provoke some controversy but having options is probably for the best.
