Medallions were added to Fortnite with the start of Chapter 5. The medallion is a perk-boosting token that can be obtained by eliminating the bosses on the map. These medallions boost different stats or provide gradual health recovery once equipped.
In Chapter 5 Season 1, Epic Games introduced Medallions alongside the High Society bosses. While medallions were not received with open arms at the beginning of Season 1, they quickly became a massive part of the meta. So, considering the popularity and effectiveness of medallions in Fortnite, Epic Games has decided to add new medallions in the Chapter 6 Season 3 update.
All New Medallions in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
Epic Games added two new Fortnite medallions with the Chapter 6 Season 3 update. There were two boss medallions in Chapter 6 Season 2. Here's a look at the new medallions and how they work in Fortnite.
Super Shield Medallion
The Super Shield Medallion is obtainable by eliminating Shogun X on the roaming version of Chapter 6 Season 2 loot island. The Super Shield medallion is one of the most unique medallions we have received until now. The new medallion gives you a shield bubble whenever you use a healing potion. The shield bubble can negate or stop a hefty amount of damage dealt by other players. This is currently the second-best medallion in the game, as it grants players the ability to heal without worrying about damage taken from other players.
Phasma’s Blaster Medallion
The Phasma's Blaster Medallion is obtainable by eliminating Captain Phasma at the First Order Base. This new medallion allows players to fire the blasters for longer by decreasing heat generation and improving cooldowns. Seeing how the medallion works, this will be the most sought-after medallion in the game for the current season.
While the medallions in Chapter 5 Season 1 granted players shield regeneration abilities, the medallions in Chapter 6 Season 2 will not feature any healing capabilities. However, picking up a medallion will reveal your location on the map as usual. You can stack up multiple medallions in the current season.
