During the February Nintendo Direct, Koei Tecmo have officially announced the next Samurai Warriors game for Nintendo Switch and other consoles as well as PC. The game should launch this summer.
Koei Tecmo have confirmed they are currently developing the next game in their hack and slash franchise Samurai Warriors. The fifth major instalment is set to arrive this Summer to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. The game will also be playable on Xbox Series X and Series S via backwards compatibility.
This time around, Samurai Warriors will take players into the Sengoku period with a strong emphasis on Nobunaga Oda and Mitsuhide Akechi. Additionally, Koei Tecmo promise revamped character designs and a stylish new visual style when Samurai Warriors 5 usher in a new age of battles when it releases this summer.
Sadly, the details about the game are pretty scarce at the moment but Koei Tecmo promised to reveal a lot more during the monthly Samurai Warriors 5 live stream. The first live stream will be hosted on February 25, 2021, with regular updates leading up to the game's summer launch.
Koei Tecmo also released a reveal trailer for the game and just as you expect, it's jam-packed with mayhem and big battles, just as the fans of the franchise like it. You can check out the trailer below:
As for the release date, Koei Tecmo did not give specific details but it seems they are confident in their Summer 2021 release window.-
