Eagle eyed users have pounced on the chance to scan every inch of Red Dead Redemption 2's PlayStation 4 Pro packaging, which revealed a few interesting bits of information like file size and timed PS4 exclusive RDR2 Online content.

The packaging states that Red Dead Redemption 2 Online's select content will arrive on PlayStation 4 a month earlier than on Xbox One, which means Sony ensured they're still Rockstar's darlings. Note that the latter still didn't confirm these details themselves - we're purely going by with what's on the box.

It also says that the game's online multiplayer will support between 2 and 32 players, albeit that part is written in the not-so-prominent small print. Nevertheless, it should be a welcome improvement over Red Dead Redemption's free roam mode, which sports 15 players.

We've also found out that Red Dead Redemption 2's installation will weigh in at about 105GB, which suggests that Rockstar have really gone all out in portraying the gunslinging world. Needless to say, the file size is likely to require some planning ahead considering the room available on current generation of consoles, especially the non-Pro/X variants.

As far as official information goes, Rockstar have mostly fed us bits and pieces thus far, with the latest wildlife update perhaps being the most extensive official reveal as of yet. With more than 200 species of land animals, birds and fish, Red Dead Redemption 2 is likely to be a treat for players who enjoy side-activities such as hunting and fishing.

Moreover, it is said that Rockstar went out of their way to ensure that animals accurately mimic their real life counterparts, congregating into herds, hunting in packs and scavenging dead carcasses, among other things. Hunting will be a in important survival method and a valuable resource and crafting tool too.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated for launch on 26 October 2018, although the peaking interest in the game means we're likely to be hearing much more until then, one way or another.
