Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have five days left to make good on their announcement of Red Dead Redemtion 2's online component opening its beta phase to players. The wild west side of the Grand Theft Auto Online coin creatively titled Red Dead Online was revealed to be arriving on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in November 2018.
"Later this month, Rockstar Games is planning to launch an initial public beta of Red Dead Online. A new online connected experience set against the backdrop of Red Dead Redemption 2's enormous open world," Take-Two President Karl Slatoff confirmed in a November .
The initial announcement was made as early as 19 September 2018 on Rockstar Games' official page, well before Red Dead Redemption 2's singleplayer component even launched. Unsurprisingly, mirrors Slatoff's earnings call statement almost to the letter.
Anyone who played GTA Online will have at least a slight notion of what RDR Online will play like, so considering the massive amount of money, player engagement, and money the multiplayer facet produced Rockstar aren't likely to experiment too much with the proven formula.
RDR Online's public beta plans lead us to conclude that there might be little in the way of sign-up and selection procedures for initial testing. Still, there is no word or notification coming from Rockstar or Take-Two on when players might get to dive in themselves exactly, with only five days left in November 2018.
We have already noted in of Red Dead Redemption 2 that the game is a somewhat sloggingly deliberate title and demands a lot of time in order to be enjoyed on its own terms. Whether Rockstar will adjust RDR2's overall pacing and its animation system in particular for the multiplayer iteration remains to be seen.
