According to the GTA and Red Dead Online leak, which is not turning out to be true, GTA VI is indeed set in Vice City and will have complex weather mechanics. The reveal date is apparently set for 2021.
Earlier this year, a leak surfaced over at Reddit , stating that Grand Theft Auto Online is set to receive a major new update this year. The leaker stated that this update is set to release in July 2020 but could be moved to August 2020 due to Covid-19.
Furthermore, some of the new additions that were listed in the post include a brand new heist, new business, new radio station, weapons and more. The leaker also said GTA V will be coming to next-gen consoles with new stuff, which turned out to be true.
As you may know, several days ago, Rockstar Games officially confirmed that GTA Online is indeed getting another big update. They confirmed that a brand new heist is coming, which correlates with the earlier info from the leak.
Now, here's where things get interesting. The leak also included some exclusive details about Grand Theft Auto VI. Here's everything that was included in the post:
- It is set in Vice City, period unknown.
- Leaker's friend was programming features related to weather, how different weather affects NPCs.
- The announcement should be the next year, but he is not sure, because he did not get any deadline.
- He also said that the most ridiculous thing that happened to him when testing is a random lightning strike on the NPCs.
This info also correlates with some earlier leaks which suggested that GTA VI is indeed set in Vice City and will be titled GTA Vice. These leaks also revealed how the game would feature a massive weather mechanics with hurricanes, tornadoes and other realistic weather effects.
All in all, it is safe to say that with the latest confirmation from Rockstar, this leak is probably one of the legit ones that appeared recently. We're not sure about that announcement date though, but late 2021 reveal with Holiday 2022 release date could be possible.
