According to the latest leak that appeared on Reddit, GTA VI could be set in two cities - Rio de Janeiro and Vice City with a small visit to Liberty City. The game will feature a single male protagonist, which conflicts with previous leaks.
It's been six years since the release of the eight major Grand Theft Auto game - GTA V. Of course, many are expecting that Rockstar finally announce the new game as this is the biggest wait between the two GTA games in the history of the franchise.
However, Rockstar are yet to confirm the new game but at least there are tons of leaks and rumours that could give us a clearer picture of the next game. According to the latest leak, which appeared on Reddit earlier this week, GTA VI will be set in two cities - Rio de Janeiro and Vice City and it will be heavily inspired by Netflix's Narcos.
Apparently, the development of the game has started in 2012, which is one year before the launch of GTA V. However, production didn't pick up until 2015 and even then it was very light due to team's focus on Red Dead Redemption 2.
Despite previous leaks suggesting female protagonist, Redditor JackOLantern1982 claims that GTA VI will have a single male protagonist named Ricardo who is a rising drug lord wannabe. Apparently, players start off as a grunt doing runs as a cocaine smuggler from Vice City to the new large South American area before they meet big-time drug lords and climb their way up the ranks.
Furthermore, GTA VI will feature weather system with hurricanes, floods and more. Players will have their own vehicle, similar to a horse in Red Dead Redemption 2, where they can store all their weapons and stuff. Apparently, you won't be able to carry a ton of weapons in your pockets anymore, only two.
The game is still in pre-alpha and it's coming only to next-gen consoles which are scheduled to arrive sometime in late 2020. No ETA on GTA VI release date though.
The Reddit post features a lot of other information on the game, but just like any other leak, rumour or unconfirmed information, take it with a grain of salt.
