Google have finally revealed launch titles for their cloud gaming platform Stadia. The platform will have only 12 games on launch which disappointed some players who expected a lot more games.
Google Stadia is set to arrive next week - 19 November 2019 - and today, Google have decided to reveal all titles that will be available on their could gaming platform on launch. The list includes a couple of blockbusters but despite this, players are a bit disappointed with Stadia's offering.
Google Stadia launch titles:
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
- Destiny 2: The Collection
- Just Dance 2020
- Mortal Kombat 11
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
- Rise of the Tomb Raider
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
- Samurai Shodown
As you can see it's a lot less than initially revealed but Google promise that more games will arrive pretty soon. Still, players think that the lineup won't drive console and PC gamers to even consider Stadia with this lineup of games. "It's a tremendously weak lineup anyone who says otherwise is lying, this won't drive an Xbox owner or a PlayStation owner or even Nintendo owner to touch Stadia," one Reddit user wrote.
Interestingly, players will be able to play three Tomb Raider titles on launch and we wonder if some players prefered to see some other genres instead of at least one Tomb Raider game.
Many hoped that more AAA games such as Borderlands 3, would be available on launch but as things stand, they are scheduled to launch sometime later. It remains to be seen how many games will be added by the end of the month and if some of the Stadia showcase titles such as 2016's Doom will also join the pack soon.
