Planet Zoo 2

Planet Zoo 2 is a construction and management simulation game developed and published by Frontier Developments, scheduled to launch on 13 October 2026 simultaneously for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. 

It is priced at £39.99/$49.99 for the Standard Edition and £54.99/$64.99 for the Deluxe Edition, which adds six additional species, including the Golden Eagle, Great Hammerhead Shark, and Axolotl. Frontier describes Planet Zoo 2 as a generational leap forward in animal behaviour, animation, and simulation depth.

The two headline additions are a fully functional aquarium system and flyable bird species with customisable aviaries, both among the most requested features from the Planet Zoo community. Aquariums are fully customisable habitats supporting both freshwater and saltwater environments, with confirmed species including Blacktip Reef Sharks, Hawksbill Turtles, and Ocean Sunfish, and zookeepers required to wear wetsuits and pass through airlocks to maintain them. 

Aviaries support walk-through guest access and confirmed flying species including the Keel-billed Toucan and Secretarybird. Beyond the zoo itself, a new Wildlife Reserve system allows players to release animals into large open ecosystems and run global conservation projects from the Planet Hub, a centralised dashboard tracking performance, research, and conservation across a worldwide network of zoos. The Frontier Workshop returns with cross-platform support for player-created blueprints.
