GTA Online has had a great run spanning more than half a decade on the first generation of consoles it start off on but it's all coming to an end in 2021.
GTA Online services for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will shut down on December 16, 2021. Before that happens, a few dates of note are coming for the PS3 and XB360 players.
First, the Shark Cards will still be purchasable for months, until September 15, 2021. Be wary that even though you're paying for these microtransactions, nothing will be different for you compared to the other players - you will still not be able to play GTAO on these consoles in December.
Also, keep in mind that the sunsetting will only apply to GTA Online on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Even if you're playing on last-gen consoles, PS4 and Xbox One, these changes will have no effect on you. The service will remain as it is. PS3 and Xbox 360 players will not lose access to GTA V story mode, only the online portion.
Stat tracking through Rockstar Social Club will also shut down on September 16, 2021, for PS3 and Xbox 360, meaning all the stat tracking and other features will also go away.
Besides GTA Online, Rockstar Social Club features will disappear on the same date for Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire .
