Rockstar easily hit their biggest gold vein with GTA V as the game just won't stop selling. Some people initially thought it slowed down in early October 2020 but one week later proved otherwise.
GTA V released on April 14, 2015, on PC. Ever since this happened, the game has been consistently in the top 10 sellers on the platform. Given its age, many have been wondering for years when the sales will start dropping off but that time hasn't come yet.
In the week ending on October 11, 2020, the game finally disappeared from Steam's top 10 best selling list . Baldur's Gate Early Access kicked in and people bought a ton of copies which surprised even the head honcho himself and Red Dead Redemption 2 made it into the list.
People started believing that GTA V had fallen off and we were looking at a refreshed list in the future. Just one week later, Rockstarstein's monster made a comeback and placed #9 ahead of Hades.
This once again surprised those who follow these lists since the game still shows no signs of giving up. What makes the game's resilience more impressive is the fact that not a few months ago GTA V had a free to keep stint on Epic Games Store . Furthermore, it may be "only" five years old on Steam but GTA V has been around for seven years as it was initially a console exclusive.
Considering we don't have an official confirmation of GTA 6 just yet, some people started imploring others to stop buying GTA V so we can finally get the next instalment.
