Annapurna Interactive

Annapurna Interactive is an American video game publisher and developer founded on 1 December 2016 as a division of Annapurna Pictures, the independent media company established by producer Megan Ellison in 2011 and headquartered in West Hollywood, California. Built around a philosophy of publishing games that are personal, emotional, and original, the company rapidly established itself as one of the most distinctive voices in independent game publishing, championing narrative-driven titles at a time when the market was dominated by large-scale action games. Early releases including What Remains of Edith Finch, which won the BAFTA Games Award for Best Game in 2018, Gorogoa, Donut County, and Outer Wilds set the tone for a catalogue defined by creative ambition and a willingness to back unusual, auteur-driven work.

Since then, Annapurna's portfolio has grown to include Sayonara Wild Hearts, Kentucky Route Zero, Neon White, Stray, and Solar Ash, alongside a commitment to co-funding larger-scale projects, including a 50% contribution to the €50 million development budget for Remedy Entertainment's Control 2. In 2022, the company launched an internal development studio, with Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth among the announced projects. Upcoming published titles include The Lost Wild, a dinosaur survival horror game from Great Ape Games, scheduled for 2027.
