Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis

Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is an action-adventure game co-developed by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, published by Amazon Game Studios, and scheduled to launch on 12 February 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Revealed at The Game Awards 2025 and confirmed with a release date during Sony's PlayStation State of Play on 2 June 2026, the game is a full reimagining of the original 1996 Tomb Raider built on Unreal Engine 5, making it the second remake of Lara Croft's debut adventure following Tomb Raider: Anniversary in 2007. Lara is voiced by Alix Wilton Regan, best known as the female Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 3. The game was originally targeted for 2026 before being delayed into February 2027.

Rather than a direct port, Legacy of Atlantis substantially rebuilds the original game's structure. Level design has been opened up from self-contained rooms into semi-connected environments players can traverse and approach from multiple angles, while exploration, combat, and puzzle mechanics have been overhauled for a modern audience. The story follows Lara hunting for the scattered pieces of the Scion, a powerful artefact connected to the lost civilisation of Atlantis, taking her from the jungles of Peru to ancient ruins in Greece and the deserts of Egypt. Crystal Dynamics is also separately developing Tomb Raider: Catalyst, a fully original entry in the series, also expected in 2027.
