House of Golf 2 is a cute mini-golf game with charming levels, soothing music, and an interesting choice of visual backgrounds. This game is a perfect choice for calming nerves after a long day full of stress.

I'm sure you've often come across interesting and very attractive mini-golf game ads while scrolling on your phone or browsing social media. But when you try to download one from your app store, you're either disappointed by the poor quality of a game or frustrated by a game overloaded with ads and whatnot.

Well, if you're interested in one such game where you can play level after level of interesting mini-golf encounters, then I must inform you that you must not look any further because you found a perfect game, and its name is House of Golf 2.

House of Golf 2 features an interesting choice of levels, set inside the house with all the regular house staff being all sorts of obstacles in your ultimate golf goal—to put the ball inside of the hole.

Everything one might expect from a golf game is here as well—the real scoring system used in real golf, the usual mechanics of controlling the strength of your shots, using the stuff around you as obstacles to reach the hole in the fewest tries possible, and everything else related to these kinds of games.

Given that the theme of the game is household, your obstacles will be different kinds of things, depending on the room in which you play the current course. For example, if you play inside the children's room, you'll have to go around toys and even use them as leverage to reach the hole faster. A couple of courses inside the children's room have some cannons, and if you launch the ball close to them, it will suck the ball in and launch it across the room, closer to the hole, or you'll be able to use some children's toys as lifts to elevate the ball higher for even greater rewards.

Most of the rooms feature special medals you can find if you decide to go a bit off-course. Those medals will award you with different types of balls but will cost you additional moves, so the choice will be yours whether to tackle them or not. Of course, every stage can be replayed later if you want a better score, and once the medal is found, it will be in your possession forever.

Apart from the classic offline tournament mode, where you tackle different stages and unlock new ones, you'll be able to participate in different online competitions, playing against real players. This mode is interesting because, of course, you're playing against real people and the stakes are always higher this way, but basically, it's the same game and not like the real people can be better than the AI ones. However, the mode is present, and if you like it, you can play it.

One of the greatest letdowns of this game is actually its repetitiousness. All you can see in the entire game is showcased within the first couple of levels; all else is just a copy-and-paste kind of design. Don't get me wrong, the levels are diverse in the form of design, but the gameplay is always the same—solve the obstacles and put the ball in the hole—all without adding any new mechanics as you progress through the game.

Regarding the visual presentation, the game looks decent—not great, not terrible, I'd say. The game is made using the Unreal Engine, and that alone tells the story on its own. Of course, that guarantees nothing, but House of Golf 2 looks nice indeed.

All the backgrounds look so realistic, but they're not rendered to be the real 3D models but rather static images and you can tell which objects are rendered in 3D and which ones are not. The static images look way better.

The music in House of Golf 2, on the other hand, is wonderfully soothing, which greatly contributes to the game's relaxing atmosphere. Thanks to this calming soundtrack, I found myself completely unwinding and fully relaxing while playing.

Conclusion

House of Golf 2 is a perfect mini-golf game to burn an hour or two of your free time, especially when you're stressed after a long day and just want to play something soothing and feel completely relaxed; this game has that therapeutic effect on you. However, it is far from the perfect game because all you can see in the first couple of stages will be repeated all the time, raising a great question: will you have enough patience to play this game on long terms?

However, you’re not obligated to play the entire game since it isn’t story-driven. You can play as long as you enjoy it and stop whenever you like. Ultimately, if you’re a fan of mini-golf games, I believe House of Golf 2 stands out as one of the best, offering everything you could want in this genre.
