Fictions

Fictions is an American video game publisher based in Los Angeles, California, formally established in 2025 following the rebranding of Private Division, the indie publishing label originally founded in December 2017 as a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive. The company came into being through two converging events: Take-Two's divestiture of Private Division to investment firm Haveli Investments in November 2024, and the near-simultaneous resignation of almost the entire staff of Annapurna Interactive in September 2024 following a dispute with its owner, Megan Ellison. The former Annapurna team, alongside some former Private Division employees and industry veterans including Greg Rice, formerly of PlayStation Indie and Double Fine, were brought in by Haveli to manage the inherited Private Division catalogue and build a new publishing identity. The studio was officially renamed Fictions in June 2025, coinciding with its first announcement under the new brand.

During its time as Private Division, the label published acclaimed titles including The Outer Worlds from Obsidian Entertainment, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey from Panache Digital Games, and OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome from Roll7. Fictions launched its first title under the new name with LEGO Party!, a multiplayer party game developed by SMG Studio, released on 30 September 2025. Its current publishing slate includes Beast of Reincarnation, Game Freak's debut AAA title, launching 4 August 2026, alongside Armatus, a roguelite third-person shooter from Counterplay Games, and Everbloom, a simulation game from Torbie.
