Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero is a free-to-play action RPG developed and published by HoYoverse, released on 4 July 2024 for PlayStation 5, Windows, iOS, and Android, with an Xbox Series X|S port following in June 2025. Set in a near-future metropolis called New Eridu, the last surviving city in a world devastated by a phenomenon known as Hollows, the game places players in the role of a Proxy who runs a video rental shop as a front while secretly guiding people through the dangerous pocket dimensions the Hollows create. The game surpassed 50 million downloads worldwide within two days of launch, marking one of HoYoverse's fastest-growing releases alongside Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.

Gameplay centres on fast-paced squad combat with up to three characters, each with distinct abilities, playstyles, and elemental affinities, switchable mid-fight to chain combos and maximise damage output. The game follows HoYoverse's established free-to-play model, with a gacha banner system used to unlock new characters and weapons. Regular version updates, limited-time events, and new character banners sustain the live-service content cycle, with a dedicated global community across PC, console, and mobile platforms.
