Hunter: The Reckoning - Deathwish

Hunter: The Reckoning - Deathwish

Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish is a first-person single-player action RPG developed by Polish studio Teyon and published by NACON, announced at the Xbox Partner Showcase on 26 March 2026 and scheduled to launch in summer 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Set in White Wolf's World of Darkness universe, it marks the first game in the Hunter: The Reckoning licence in roughly 20 years and is a new adaptation of the 1999 tabletop RPG rather than a continuation of the early-2000s console games. Teyon, the Kraków-based studio behind Terminator: Resistance and RoboCop: Rogue City, describes Deathwish as its most ambitious project to date, moving from licensed action shooters into a broader, choice-driven RPG with detective mechanics, companion systems, and branching consequences.

The game is set in a semi-open version of New York City where the player discovers the hidden world of monsters operating beneath everyday life and becomes a Hunter, the last line of defence between the supernatural and the unsuspecting public. Character creation draws from the tabletop RPG, allowing players to customise appearance, merits, and flaws before each hunt. A base of operations in an old bar evolves alongside the story, serving as a hub for five companions, each with their own backstory and personal arc. Preparation matters as much as combat: players can spy, infiltrate, hack, or steal information before confronting each target, approaching lairs through brute force, stealth, or cunning. Decisions made in dialogue and missions carry lasting consequences, with the risk of attracting police attention or the scrutiny of more powerful factions adding further pressure across the campaign.
