Overwatch's live servers got a new patch. The update tweaked Mei, Doomfist and Mercy a bit, and made some bigger changes to Sombra. Players will have to get used to slower EMP charges and stop relying on the Ult ability as much.
Overwatch has a new patch on its live servers, and this time it's deliberate. The changes that Jeff form the Overwatch team has talked about in his latest one-take Developer Update are now live and will need some getting used to.
A couple of small changes have been made to Doomfist and Mei. Doomfist has had his ammo recovery rate increased from 0.8 seconds to 0.65 seconds per bullet. This buff, coupled with the recent tweaks to his Hand Cannon, namely the one that allows him to shoot more bullets that deal less damage should be fun to watch and play.
Mei's Endothermic Blaster is now able to slow down enemies for half a second longer, which will come in handy when dealing with an overly annoying Lucio or Genji. Her alternate fire's ammo cost has been reduced from 25 to 20.
The star of the patch has to be Sombra. Her Ultimate has been changed and won't be blocked by small objects in the future. The hero's Hack ability will no longer go towards charging her Ultimate when it is used to hack health packs, but she will be able to cast it more quickly than before.
The Hack ability will from now on disable the following:
- Genji - Cyber-agility
- Hanzo - Wall Climb
- Pharah - Hover Jets
- Lúcio - Healing Boost and Speed Boost (turns off current song entirely), Wall Ride
- Mercy - Angelic Descent
Machine Pistol's spread was reduced from 3 to 2.7. Sombra's passive ability - The Opportunist, now lets her see the enemy health bars when their health drops below 100 percent. The ability to detect enemies through walls has remained unchanged. Translocator's duration has been increased from 15 seconds to 20 seconds.
The latest update has also brought more health packs to the Blizzard World map. Mercy's Valkyrie will stop displaying enemies' health bars unless they have taken damage.
