Bungie is starting 2018 off with an Iron Banner event. Lord Saladin will occupy the Tower from 30 January until 06 February. Items from the last season remain as rewards from the engram.
Destiny 2's Faction Rallies have come to a close on Tuesday, 23 January, and New Monarchy came out on top. Again. There is a new event coming to Destiny 2 on 30 January. The event is Iron Banner and the game is Control.
Lord Saladin will return to to the Tower and bring "some changes to how you’ll go about decorating your Guardian with relics of the Iron Lords". The engrams will yield new Season 2 items, because money, and Bungie will be adding more items next week. Items from the last season will remain as possible rewards from the engram.
There's also a new emblem you can earn by completing the Iron Banner Milestone. The emblem tracks how many lifetime rank ups for Iron Banner you have earned in Destiny 2.
"Based on user feedback", Bungie has added the ability to procure armour and three different weapons from Lord Saladin during each event. There is one more way to earn rewards, and it may shock you. It's by completing challenges. Wow, right. You unlock Ornaments for your Iron Banner gear by completing various objectives given by Lord Saladin.
"There are no limits to how many engrams you can acquire or how many tokens you can earn. Get as much playtime as you can during the week. It will always move you a little closer to opening another engram, earning an ornament, or purchasing a piece of gear from Lord Saladin" says the announcement.
Next week will bring Legendary armour drops. The armour will drop as a Masterwork. You will have a higher chance of getting Armor Masterwork from Trials of the Nine and Raid activities.
You can now also rework your armour's stats. The results still be stat packages that are found on other pieces. Finally, they are changing how Raid rewards work. More on that on Destiny 2' official page.
The Iron Banner event will come to an end on 06 February.
