The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now enhanced for Xbox One X and the patch brought two new visual modes with it. An additional update for PlayStation 4 Pro users will drop in the near future.

CD Projekt RED have released an all new Xbox One X enhancement patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game has now joined a steadily growing list of Xbox One X enhanced titles that includes: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Assassin's Creed Origins, Call of Duty: WWII when it comes to recent releases.

An additional PlayStation 4 Pro upgrade patch is coming in the near future and it will introduce HDR support for the system.

The Xbox One X patch has added a number of new graphical features and tweaks to the world of The Witcher 3 across two visual fidelity options: 4K and Performance Mode.

If you choose the 4K mode, the game and all its content will run in 4K resolution. Future - you're living in it. If you happen to own an Xbox One X but are skimping on a TV you'll get supersampled 4K and a disappointed head turn from yours truly.

The 4K mode will also bring enhanced shadows, ambient occlusion and texture filtering, as well as higher resolution textures and gameplay at 30 fps.

If you choose to run your game with using the Performance Mode instead, you'll get dynamic resolution scaling, rendering the game at a resolution of minimum 1080p and up to 4K while targeting 60 fps during gameplay.

Both modes will feature additional HDR support which will make the game look more vivid when played on an HDR display.

More info on the patch and how to toggle between the different modes can be found on the official page.

The PlayStation 4 version of the game has already received a similar patch back in October. If you are a PlayStation 4 Pro user, you can expect an additional upgrade featuring support for HDR and a number of technical tweaks improving the overall experience to be released in the near future.
