Warner Bros. just released an Xbox One X update for Middle-earth: Shadow of War. The update will let you choose between two enhanced modes that Shadow of War offers for the console.
I know, I know, but it's the news.
Warner Bros. just released an Xbox One X update for Middle-earth: Shadow of War. The update comes packed with various enhancements that will help you "take full advantage of the newly released console’s engine" says the press release.
After the update is applied, players will get to enjoy an "immersive, true 4K and HDR (High Dynamic Range) gaming experience for Xbox One X" while bashing an Uruk-hai's head in with Urfael. You'll first need to download the update. Once that's done you can choose between two enhanced modes that Shadow of War offers for the console.
"The first option focuses on resolution with increased texture detail, targeting native 4K. The second option focuses on overall quality with increased draw distances, improved shadow and lighting conditions, increased vegetation, improved ambient occlusion, higher polygon counts and texture filtering improvements, all optimised for Xbox One X" explains the press release.
Please note that Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an Xbox Play Anywhere title. This allows you to purchase the digital version of the game through the Xbox Store or the Windows 10 Store and then play it anywhere. Neat-o. All saves, game add-ons and achievements can also be transferred between Xbox One and Windows 10 platforms. Neat-o-er?
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is now available for the Xbox One, Windows 10 PC (through the Windows 10 Store and Steam), PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War takes place between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and continues the original narrative of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
