The Mass Effect: Andromeda patch set to arrive on Thursday will adress some of the game's launch issues. More updates announced for the coming months.

Zombie BioWare has revealed the contents of their upcoming patch for Mass Effect: Andromeda. Numerous bug fixes and some latency improvements for multiplayer along with the first signs of efforts at repairing the game's animation problems.

These are some of the highlights:

  • Allowing you to skip ahead when travelling between planets in the galaxy map
  • Increasing the inventory limits
  • Improving the appearance of eyes for humans and Asari characters
  • Decreasing the cost of remnant decryption keys and making them more accessible at merchants
  • Improving localised voice over lip sync
  • Fixing Ryder’s movements when running in a zig zag pattern
  • Improving matchmaking and latency in multiplayer

The patch will however not be fixing Zombie BioWare's reputation for making quality games, the wasted potential of setting the game in a new galaxy and it definitely won't be fixing Andromeda's mixed reviews.

More updates have been promised for the coming months and it's good to see that the game and EA's customers haven't been entirely abandoned. Fixes set to arrive in the next two months will be adressing:

  • More options and variety in the character creator
  • Improvements to hair and general appearance for characters
  • Ongoing improvements to cinematic scenes and animations
  • Improvements to male romance options for Scott Ryder
  • Adjustments to conversations with Hainly Abrams

A lot of users roaming reddit are relieved, but others are still holding on to their grudge regarding Andromedas snu-snu options.

Also, Telxvi noticed there is an "accolades trailer" for Andromeda up on EA's German YouTube channel (embedded above), while one is strangely missing from the company's English language channels. Did the German gaming press absolutely adore the game and no one noticed? Did Telxvi just fail spectacularly at finding the corresponding trailer in English?

Let us know in the comments if there is more to this than meets the eye.
