Awake - the first episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm is now out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The launch was celebrated with an emotional three minute video about friendship. Two more episodes will be released.
Square Enix's Life is Strange: Before the Storm episode 1 "Awake" is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. A hella emotional, three minute video titled "An Open Letter" was shared on the Life is Strange YouTube channel to celebrate the occasion as well as the game's themes of friendship, love and support.
Square Enix Vice President for Brand Marketing Jon Brooke said: "I wanted to capture the emotion and spirit of Life is Strange in a way that you don't usually see in video game advertising. As a game, it braves to be different, harnessing emotions rarely seen in video games and I wanted the advertising to match this. I am really pleased with how it turned out. It's designed to remind us that life is all about our relationships and a strong friendship can change everything. I hope everyone can relate to that."
Awake is the first out of three episodes that will tell the story od Chloe and Rachel's relationship. The story takes place in Arcadia Bay and focuses on Chloe's pain brought on by her father's death. The fact that her friend Max left town soon after didn't do her any good either.
Life is Strange: Before the Storm was developed by a Denver based studio, Deck Nine Games. From the video shared a couple of months ago, we know that Chloe will go to an illegal concert in an abandoned mill on the outskirts of Arcadia Bay. She and Rachel will also spend some time in a new environment called The Overlook. The third is mildly spoilerific so I'll let you see for yourselves.
