Sony just released The Spider-Man: Homecoming Virtual Reality Experience on Steam. The game is short but it puts you in Spider Man's shoes and hypes you up for the upcoming movie. It's also free.
We knew this was coming. The Spider-Man: Homecoming Virtual Reality Experience was teased back at Sony's E3 event this year and now it's out on Steam. The experience is totally free.
The Spider-Man: Homecoming Virtual Reality Experience is based on the upcoming movie with the same name. It is described as a "fun and thrilling first-person look inside the world of your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man."
This virtual reality trailer for the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie has its own trailer in which the latest (and the best?) Spider Man, Tom Holland congratulates us on the opportunity we've been given: the chance to experience what it's like to be him. Tony's smugness seems to have rubbed off on the little guy.
Anyway, the experience gives you a chance to be Spider Man for a brief period of time. You'll get to take the new Stark Industries upgraded web shooters out for a trial run, and try to master different web types.
The game's steam page describes it:
"For the first time, you can suit up as Spider-Man and see what it’s like to be the world’s favorite superhero. Learn the ins and outs of your brand new Stark Industries upgraded web shooters and master different web types as you race to complete fast-paced targeting trials – but you’ll have to learn quickly… The Vulture is on the loose and coming for you. Sling high above the city in a dramatic confrontation before pursuing Spidey's deadliest enemy.
Based on the all-new 2017 film, the Spider-Man Homecoming VR Experience is a fun and thrilling first-person look inside the world of your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man."
The game's brevity is a catalyst behind the negative reviews on Steam, but we think that the experience serves its purpose: it's a VR trailer for an upcoming movie. You can check it out for yourself right here.
