505 Games' survival RPG, Portal Knights is now officially available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game has spent months in Early Access and it is now available to the players all over the world. Portal Knights is an indie survival RPG which has you take on the role of one of three RPG character classes: warrior, ranger and mage.
The game took the building and exploration gameplay elements found in Minecraft and blended it up with your run-of-the-mill role-play elements to make a Portal Knight smoothie. It features a set of randomly generated 3-D sandbox worlds where you can find different resources for your crafting endeavours, environments to explore and foes to slay.
The warrior, ranger and mage classes will let you personalise your "appearance, abilities, and gear". Mages have always been a favourite of mine in these RPG games. Area of effect skills? Yes, please. Fiery doom you cast upon those who have wronged you? Sign me up. Boss battles against the Portal Guardians are, along with the quests another major RPG detail in Portal Knights.
The game has a singleplayer and a multiplayer mode, and the multiplayer lets you team up with other knights in 4 - players co-op. "Work together on the same island to build structures, explore dungeons, and overcome the toughest perils or play separately on different islands."
Portal Knights for Xbox One can be found over at the Store, and it costs £15.99. PlayStation 4 version will set you back around the same amount for the Sapphire Throne Edition, also, there is a free demo available here. The PC version of the game is available on Steam.
