Guerrilla Games is breaking the Killzone mold
Horizon Zero Dawn launched today exclusively for PlayStation 4. Guerrilla Games's latest title has already received stellar reviews and the game holds a Metacritic score of 88, at the time of writing. Reviews came in and they have nothing but kind words for the developer's first run-in with the RPG genre.
Reviewers commend Horizon Zero Dawn for its character oriented narrative, and Decima - Guerrilla's proprietary game engine, which will be used in Hideo Kojima's upcoming Death Stranding. All reviews converge on a few features of the open world game, having nothing but kind words about almost every aspect of it.
A dedicated photo mode makes use of the beautiful landscapes the game has to offer, and the combat requires a tactical mind and on-the-fly crafting. Most of all, the words of praise are directed towards the story, which makes up for some of the AI and graphics pitfalls. The story is said to be engaging and the biggest driving force behind the PlayStation 4 exclusive.
