GTA Online is getting a new four-player heist today with the free Doomsday Heist DLC. Still no single-player DLC but co-op will do until Rockstar decides that Red Dead Redemption 2 is ready.
It has been over two years since GTA Online's Heist update and today Rockstar have released an additional Doomsday heist to complement the 5 heists that have been around since early 2015.
The DLC features the by now usual sets of new cosmetics, weapons, toys, vehicles and the heist idea itself was thought to be abandoned owing to the long pause between releases.

Coming next week as part of GTA ONLINE: THE DOOMSDAY HEIST pic.twitter.com/U4UU8ZyWJa
Doomsday Heist adds tank mounted rail-guns and DeLorean style submersible flying cars to the mix while the titular heist presenting players with the challenge of saving the world from some mystery Armageddon or the other.
"A billionaire tech mogul, an idealistic intelligence agent, a socially awkward conspiracy theorist and a neurotic supercomputer have been forced into an unlikely alliance to save San Andreas from total annihilation", was what Rockstar had to blurb about the heist part of the free DLC.
Anyone interested can give it a go as soon as right away. There is a download time involved of course, if you want to be nitpicky, but the new content is free on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
More similar DLC may come our way if we all pay nice and throw micromoney at Rockstar, and you never know - we might just get to see a GTA 6 before 2020.
