This War of Mine just got the first DLC pack from the new story-driven series. Two more episodes are set to launch sometime in 2018. A season pass is available.
This War of Mine launched back in 2014 and offered a realistic view on the subject of war along with all the horrors that come with it. Now, developer 11 Bit Studios is releasing a series of stories neatly folded into DLC packs. The stories will also have a more personal tone, rather than centring around an anonymous figure trying to survive in a city under siege.
The first DLC is titled "Father’s Promise" and it is available now on Steam. The pack will cost you £1.69. If you decide to purchase a season pass, which will grant you access to all subsequent DLCs, you'll have to cough up £3.99. Two more DLC packs are set to launch sometime in 2018.

The game itself is 80 percent off until 28 November.
"Father’s Promise is a story-driven experience based on an audio-drama by award-winning Polish author Łukasz Orbitowski," 11 Bit says. "You take on the role of Adam, a father trying to save his daughter from the horrors of war and escape the besieged city. Follow their steps and discover a story of love, hate, and sacrifice."
Łukasz Orbitowski won the Polityka Passport Award in 2015 for literature, and frequently writes in horror, science fiction, and fantasy genres.
"When I have read the story — and few other folks from 11 Bit — we were amazed by how Łukasz portrayed the dissonance between what you think is the challenge for a person to survive in war times and how to actually understand what is happening in the person’s soul," said 11 Bit partnerships manager Pawel Miechowski.

This is not the first bit of additional content the studio has released for This War of Mine, nor is it the first one to feature children. The Little Ones expansion also added a child the player is supposed to take care of when it was released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2016.
