The next delayed exclusive DLC pack for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is coming to PlayStation 4 on 12 September 2017 with the usual maps and horror game modes. Platforms other than PlayStation 4 can expect the DLC sometime in late October.

Call of Duty: WW2 will most likely release around the same time that the last DLC pack for Infinite Warfare becomes available for platforms other than the PlayStation 4.

This may mean that Activision is making the most of its CoD money from that console anyway, or that Sony might still be footing the majority of that bill. The release of the fourth DLC pack for Infinite Warfare could be a fire and forget kind of deal for the publisher - especially considering the generally disastrous reception of Call of Duty's little trip into the far future.

Also, there is barely any trace of Infinite Warfare left on the Call of Duty official homepage. If I were Activision, I would try to forget as well, but there is no doubt that the game made its investment back, and then some.

Either way, the Retribution DLC will release on 12 September 2017 for PlayStation 4. It's the usual fare - some new maps, probably more cosmetics and microtransaction fodder, along with the now traditional horror game mode.

The four new maps are Carnage, Heartland, Altitude and Depot 22. The zombie mode is titled Beast from Beyond this time around.

"The Beast from Beyond, the final chapter of the five-part Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare zombies experience, features the return of Willard Wyler, the enigmatic movie director villain portrayed with voice and likeness by Paul Reubens. Wyler once again has trapped the four protagonists inside an all-new horror film, now set in a desolate military station on a distant ice planet", is how the promo blurb describes the experience.

Never forget - no matter how used you get to it, DLC is still a publisher driven scam, always overpriced, and never reason enough to pre-order or get a season pass.
