Nier: Automata's upcoming DLC pack will bring new cosmetics and outfits, but most importantly, two new boss fights. And not just any bosses - Square Enix and PlatinumGames - Yosuke Matsuda and Kenichi Sato.
Nier: Automata launched in early March of this year, to favourable reviews and overall positive ratings. The game is set in the world of its predecessor - Nier, but a couple of thousands of years into the future.
The Earth is flourishing and people of all races and creeds live in harmony and sing their socially acceptable version of Kumbaya every night under the starry sky. I'm just yanking your chain, because this is, and say it with me folks, a world set in a post apocalyptic wasteland.
Nothing against the post-apocalyptic setting as the former would be tough to present as a story with an engaging conflict.
It's an action RPG where you assume control of humanoid androids. The main protagonist is 2B (or not 2B?), accompanied by 9S and A2. Whoever said Platinum Games can't name their characters to save their lives, was speaking in too narrow of terms.
As it turns out, they are also pretty rubbish at naming their DLC packs.
New DLC for Nier: Automata is called 3C3C1D119440927, or, the next password Nier fans around the world will be using from now on. The DLC was announced today during the Nier: Automata One Million Shipments livestream.
The pack will feature three new coliseums, and some fresh side missions.
Rewards for the completed side missions will include some new outfits for the three androids, fresh tracks for your jukebox, cosmetic accessories and a spray to change the hair colour of 2B and A2's hair, masks with some cool effects and bullets that change the appearance of enemy bullets.
Oh, and there's this small addition of a boss fight which will see you go head to head with the presidents of Square Enix and PlatinumGames - Yosuke Matsuda and Kenichi Sato.
The DLC will ship to Europe and North America on 02 May. Both PlayStation 4 and PC versions will become available at the same time.
