You've probably heard a lot about Watch Dogs: Legion's Play as Anyone mechanic, which means that you'll be assembling your own ragtag team, but some of them come with peculiar perks, such as the possibility of randomly dropping dead.

Nope, we're not joking, and as you'll see for yourself from Watch Dogs: Legion's Gamescom 2019 trailer, some skills come at a cost, and the game's assault rifle specialist may just kick the bucket in a random fashion.

Alan Murphy, whose resume includes a 25-year immunity to visiting a doctor, comes with two perks, the first of which is +100 per cent damage with Watch Dogs: Legion's rifles.

The second one, however, is that he may die randomly, which means that enlisting him is a genuine risk. If you like having some extra oomph on your rifles though, feel free to roll the dice, but be advised his death is a permanent one.

Watch Dogs: Legion's other characters don't seem to come with these trick-perks though, but they don't get double the damage either. For instance, Victor, who's the first character in the Gamescom 2019 trailer, has 50 per cent damage immunity, which may or may not be linked to his love of a good pint.

On the other side of the legal fence is Sue Taylor, a former public defender whose skillset will help you when you need to get your Watch Dogs: Legion recruits out of jail.

There's a 25 per cent chance you won't have to do anything to see your freedom fighters out and about, so it definitely helps to have some lawyers onboard.

Ubisoft stressed that building your Watch Dogs: Legion team is all about versatility, as you'll need all sorts of jobs done throughout the game.

Watch Dogs: Legion will let you level up your recruits and unlock all sorts of perks, opening up thousands of possibilities for your ragtag team of freedom fighters, from straight-up brawlers to more sneaky grandma assassins.

If you're caught, however, permadeath isn't your only choice, as you can always defer to the corrupt justice system, and work your way out of it.
