Pokemon Go Community Day announcements seem to be getting earlier since the August event barely went by just yet and we already have an announcement for the September one. This one will feature Turtwig and start on 15 September 2019.

Pokemon Go September Community Day will kick off on Sunday, 15 September 2019 at 11:00 AM local time and will go for the usual three hour period. Players will have an additional hour to evolve the featured Pokemon in order to get the exclusive move which has not been revealed yet.

The featured Pokemon has been announced, however, and it's Turtwig this time around. Lucky players will encounter the Shiny version of Turtwig, which will then proceed to lend the trait of having funky colour schemes to its evolutions.

Therefore, the base Turtwig may be a little hard to differentiate as it takes the cyan colour rather than the greenish-yellow of the regular version. Grotle, the first evolution will be easier to discern from its Shiny counterpart - the regular one has a yellow shell, the Shiny one has a cyan shell.

Torterra, the final version, will have a green shell with green leaves and brown tree bark while the Shiny one will have olive leaves and shell with yellow tree bark.

Three-hour lures and triple Stardust on catch bonuses will be active for the duration of the event, hinting this Community Day will be all about grinding the dust.

Interestingly enough, Turtwig is the first 4th-gen Pokemon to be featured in a Community Day. We have been anticipating something like this would happen at some point in time but Niantic still caught us off-guard with the news.

The date of September Community Day will likely feel better to the players since it's not at the very start of the month like the August one, which may have caught some trainers unprepared. Then again, Niantic folks do tend to announce these events about a month ahead of their starting date.
