Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is about to receive another fresh batch of content this week. The update, which kicks off on 06 August 2019 on PS4 is bringing new modes - Pandemic and Infected: Final Stand - as well as some tweaks to Blackout.
With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare just around the corner, it's safe to say that the focus from Black Ops 4 is slowly shifting towards Infinity Ward's upcoming title. However, that doesn't mean that Treyarch, the developers of Black Ops 4 are done with their game.
Quite the contrary, in a lengthy post on Call of Duty Black Ops 4 subreddit, Treyarch detailed what exactly can players expect from the upcoming update, which is scheduled to arrive on 06 August 2019.
The biggest addition is surely a brand new mode named Pandemic which is described as an 80-player game of Infected on the biggest Call of Duty map ever, which is, of course, the Blackout map.
For those who are unfamiliar with the Infected, it's a mode in which pits infected players against survivors. The goal is to infect all survivors or to kill all the infected players.
Furthermore, Black Ops 4 will also add the standard Infected mode which is now named Infected: Final Stand. However, there are a couple of additions in terms of new mechanics but Treyarch did not detail these in the post.
The update will also introduce the new sidecar-equipped Motorcycle to Blackout, along with more Zombies-inspired Easter eggs, Wonder Weapons, wall buys, and enemy types.
On top of these additions, this update also fixes a recent issue in Zombies where players were unable to pick up the Shield piece that could appear on the bookshelf in the Library in Dead of the Night. Here are some other issues that the devs are aware of and are working on:
- Previously saved Paintjobs currently appearing hidden
- Daemon 3XB Mastercraft not leveling up properly if the base version isn’t owned
- Improved pathing for the K9-Unit to prevent Juneau from jumping up onto the tower in Summit
- Damage tuning for the Reaver C86, Argus, and Locus in Zombies
- Crashes that can occur when Pack-a-Punching the Ballistic Knife in Zombies
- Various fixes and improvements for “Alpha Omega” in Zombies
Black Ops 4 update will arrive first on PlayStation 4 while the PC and Xbox One version should follow next week. You can take a look at the full details on Reddit.
