According to Troy Baker, who is a voice actor behind the character Joel in The Last of Us, the sequel is Naughty Dog's most ambitious project ever. Baker said that The Last of Us 2 is far larger than he thought was going to be possible.
Sony and Naughty Dog are yet to start revealing details about their upcoming action-adventure The Last of Us 2. There's still nothing on the release date, and overall, the devs and the publisher remain silent ever since the gameplay reveal at E3 2018.
And while Sony and Naughty Dog don't talk much about The Last of Us 2 these days, we have some new details about the game, thanks to Troy Baker, who is better known as a voice actor behind the character Joel in the original title.
In an interview at Manchester Comic-Con 2019 earlier this week, Baker said that The Last of Us 2 is the biggest project in Naughty Dog's long history. "I can tell you this: it’s hands down the most ambitious game that Naughty Dog has ever done for sure," Troy Barker said.
Furthermore, he also claims that the game exceeded his expectations massively. Apparently, it's a lot bigger than some players may expect it to be. "It’s far larger than I thought was going to be possible," Barker explained.
Unfortunately, he did not say what exactly he's referring to when he says it's big. It's possible that Baker is talking about the size of the game's world, story or length. Whatever it is, we're glad the sequel is looking to improve on its predecessor by a large margin.
Naughty Dog are known for narrative-driven games, with linear campaigns, that don't offer much exploration but if the game is as ambitious as Barker says, we may get Naughty Dog's first open-world title with The Last of Us 2. Of course, this is just a guess as nothing is officially confirmed at the moment.
The Last of Us 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 and it could release in February 2020 according to some earlier rumours and reports.
Thanks, Push Square.
