Ubisoft have delivered the final chapter in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey's The Fate of Atlantis story arc. Dubbed Judgement of Atlantis, the final story DLC comes with a gameplay preview trailer, as well as additional info by the dev.
As you'd expect from a depiction of mythical Atlantis, it is all about science and technology, in a civilisation where humans and Assasin's Creed's first civilisation, Isu, seemingly live in peace side by side.
"Under that shining exterior, however, lies a cesspool of corruption and incompetence, where more than a few Isu citizens seem to chafe at the idea of laws protecting humans – and you've been put in charge of deciding its fate", the dev wrote.
Judgement of Atlantis players will be playing as a human-Isu hybrid that's appointed as sort of a Judge Dredd of Atlantis - ruler and judge whose only authority is Poseidon himself.
As it happens, there's plenty of judging to be made, as many Atlantis' leaders have fallen astray and require assistance with anything from crushing rebellions to staging fights, all in an attempt to manage the restless humans.
"You'll need to solve ethical dilemmas and settle disputes between citizens, as well as investigate forbidden research – and as if that weren't enough, someone's gone and set a werewolf loose in the streets", Ubisoft said.
The second focus of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey's final story DLC is unlocking the potential of the Staff of Hemer Trismegistus along with Alexios or Kassandra's Isu DNA. This is done by scanning data caches, tablets and other artefacts.
Of course, your quest for Isu enlightenment will not be made easy, and you'll have to fight superpowered regular Isu troops, bronze Kolossi, as well as other formidable masked commanders.
Judgement of Atlantis will feature three forgeable Legendary Isu weapons - a mace, a spear and a dagger, and tweak them with Assassin, Hunter or Warrior enhancements.
There are also three new abilities, which are unlocked by finding Keeper's Insight tablets and enhancing the existing skills. These are:
- Kronos' Punishment: Modifies Call to Arms, and creates a clone of you to stealth-attack your enemies before vanishing.
- Wrath of Ares: Modifies Ring of Chaos, and lets you smash your spear into the ground to create a circular field that slows enemies down and explodes after 14 seconds.
- Blessing of Kronos: Modifies Venomous Attacks, and boosts the rate at which you earn adrenaline, while also making you immune to the adrenaline-draining or freezing effects of Isu soldier attacks.
