Sony have revealed the free games coming to PlayStation Plus in July and PS4 owners are looking at a sports-flavoured month with Konami's football simulator Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 and Aquiris Game Studio's racer Horizon Chase Turbo.

On the off chance that you're not familiar with PES 2019, Konami's take on the most important secondary thing in the world has been FIFA 19's main competitor for a while now, and for a good reason.

"Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 features a huge selection of real-world licensed leagues alongside hundreds of familiar players, bringing the thrill of global competition directly to your living room", Sony wrote.

PES 2019 comes with 15 fully licensed leagues, although the instalment has brought an end to a 10-year partnership between Konami and UEFA, meaning there's no Champions League license.

The game comes with MyClub and Master League modes for all the PES 2019 players/managers out there and Sony reminded it supports local play for up to 4 players and online play, where the latter requires an internet connection and PS Plus membership, of course.

As for Horizon Chase Turbo, fans of old school racing classics like Out Run and Rush are likely to feel a familiar tingle upon seeing Aquiris Game Studio's racer, in spite of the "modern visuals, a soundtrack with insane arpeggios, and classic split-screen couch multiplayer."

Horizon Chase Turbo lets you play solo or with up to three friends in local split-screen, and much like the aforementioned classics, you'll be able to measure your progress by your surroundings, which go from Miami Vice sunsets to volcanic ashes and sandstorms.

PES 2019 and Horizon Chase Turbo will be available for download from PlayStation Store as of 02 July, and will be up until 05 August 2019.

Until then, PS4 owners can treat themselves to PS Plus' June 2019 lineup, which has Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, "a bumper bundle of both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-sequel", and Sega's Sonic Mania.
