With most of the world focusing on E3, Epic Games included, you may not have caught their announcement that their free games offer is being extended until the end of 2019, in the already established cadence of one game per week. Right on!
"Good news - we're extending that offer through the rest of the year! That's right: a free game every week for the rest of 2019. And remember, once you pick up a free game from the Epic Games store, it's yours to keep", they wrote.
Don't worry if you missed it, as the announcement was buried among the E3-announced titles that are coming to the Epic Games Store.
Initially, the company maintained a bimonthly schedule, i.e. a game once every two weeks, but as Sweeney and Co kicked into overdrive with the Epic Games Store Mega Sale, this tempo was boosted to one game per week.
Epic Store's current freebie is Kingdom New Lands, a 2D sidescrolling strategy/resource management hybrid, wrapped into cute pixelated graphics.
Developed by Noio and published by Raw Fury, Kindom New Lands is deceptively simple, as it has you using simple 2D movement to build and defend your kingdom.
Kingdom New Lands has a day and night cycle that ties in with the gameplay, making it imperative to finish one's tasks and set up defences before the night comes, when your kingdom is bound to be attacked.
The offer for Kingdom New Lands expires on 13 June 2019, i.e. tomorrow, when it will be replaced by Enter the Gungeon.
Described as a bullet hell roguelike game, Enter the Gungeon is developed by Dodge Roll and published by Devolver Digital.
The story follows four characters who descend in the Gungeon to find a gun that can kill their past, which is certainly a quest not many would say no to.
Enter the Gungeon packs a ton of interesting gun combinations and its arsenal will surely provide hours of fun. It will be available until 20 June 2019.
